Act I Chapter II
Chapter Summary: The kids learn basic lore lessons about their different species.
After the break…
ONNYX: Ok well, it’s been one hour
ONNYX: What did you guys do
ADELPHI: Nothing much, just reading some books with Kranyon and Nexus.
KRANYON: Yeah, have you guys seen the library? It’s like a labyrinth in there.
ARWEN: Labyrinth, you say?
ARWEN: Sounds interesting.
ARWEN: Moran and I might come by tomorrow.
AURORA: Me too, definitely.
TENEBRIS: samsara and i just chilled in the canteen eating some food.
TENEBRIS: ya know. some shadow girl to shadow girl talk.
NEFFERIN: even though its literally like
NEFFERIN: 10 something in the morning
NEFFERIN: when the sun is blazing hot in the sky
SAMSARA: there are other ways for shadows to bond other than those that involve being umbrally active, nefferin.
CASSIOPEIA: what are ya’ll talking about??
NEFFERIN: are you perhaps not familiar with how shadows work
CASSIOPEIA: actual physical shadows, or the species of beings called shadows?
NEFFERIN: you knew what i meant lol
CASSIOPEIA: :-P
NEXUS: uh guys i think there’s another message on the information board thing
Nexus is indeed correct. A message pops up on the screen, containing a file labelled ‘Species, Aspects and Tiers’.
Dammit, it’s a lesson file. They’re going to have a lesson on the first day of school. Why do the kids have to be subjected to such torture?
And so their lesson begins. The kids take turns to read the excerpts.
KRANYON: Guess I’ll go first then.
KRANYON: “Segment I: Species.”
KRANYON: “Our planet is populated by a diverse range of magical and non-magical beings, with eight distinct types of sentient life coexisting in harmony.”
KRANYON: “In this segment we will be going through all eight species, by descending level of abundance.”
…And that’s when you’re probably going to start running out of patience.
Ugh. You know, the plan was to show the original text that the kids read, but it took up like, eight pages.
So instead, let’s embark on a way less boring introduction, just for you guys.
